Conservation status: — Schizostachyum fimbriatum has a small EOO of less than 5,000 km 2 (3,151.3 km 2) which places it in the Endangered (EN) conservation category and a small AOO of less than 500 km 2 (60.0 km 2) which also leads to the EN category. In addition, there are less than five locations found so far and this may lead to a very high risk of extinction in the wild. According to IUCN (2023), S. fimbriatum therefore fully fits in the Endangered [EN B1, B2a] category.
Vernacular name: —ไผ่โนราห์ (Phai Nora).
Notes: —Field observations indicated that the swollen base of the culm leaf sheath provides an empty hollow space exploited by ants.
