12b. Senecio macedonicus subsp. barckhausiifolius (Boissier & Heldreich) Calvo View in CoL in Calvo et al. (2014: 140). Senecio barckhausiifolius Boissier & Heldreich in Boissier (1859: 101) [“barckhausiaefolius”]. TYPE: Greece, Attica Periphery, Sterea Ellas, Patéras Óros [m. Patéras Atticae], [38º07'N 23º18'E], 27 May 1856, G. Guicciardi 3197 (lectotype, designated by Calvo et al. (2014: 140), G-150319 image!).
Senecio macedonicus var. pinnatilobatus Halácsy (1904: 484) View in CoL . Senecio macedonicus f. pinnatilobatus (Halácsy) Hayek (1931: 675) View in CoL . TYPE: Grecce, Peloponnese, Laconia, mt. Taygetus pr. Anavryti, [37º06'N 22º17'E], 1 June 1902, C. Leonis View in CoL 123 (lectotype, designated here, WU!; isolectotypes, B-10-0094730 image!, G-DC!, G-162753!, G-162750!, JE-5721 image!, M-152077!, WU!).
Basal leaves 10–13 cm long, 4–5.5 cm wide (ratio basal leaf width / basal leaf length = 0.35–0.53), irregularly pinnatipartite (lobes 15–25 mm deep), with a petiole 8–19 cm long. Middle cauline leaves 7.5–12.5 cm long, 3.2–4.2 cm wide (ratio middle leaf width / middle leaf length = 0.34–0.43), attenuated into a petiole 3.5–7.5 cm long, irregularly pinnatipartite; upper cauline leaves 3.5–6.8 cm long, 0.8–1.4 cm wide (ratio upper leaf width / upper leaf length = 0.17–0.29), sessile, rarely with a petiole up to 0.6 cm, pinnatipartite. Chromosome number: unknown.
Distribution and habitat: — Greece; habitat unknown; elevation of ca. 1000 m ( Figure 19 View FIGURE 19 ).
Phenology: — Flowering from May to June.
Discussion: — This taxon is only known from few localities in Attica and Peloponnese. The subspecific epithet barckhausiifolius , leaves of Barckhausia , probably refers to the pinnatifid leaves that display several species of the genus Barckhausia Candolle in Candolle & Lamarck (1815: 449), now treated as part of Crepis Linnaeus (1753: 805) .
