See Shah et al. 2020 for full synonymy.
Description. For genus description, see Shah et al., 2020: 190.
Distribution. Worldwide.
Remarks. Stirellus is heterogeneous and the largest genus of Stenometopiini , distributed throughout the world. Extensive variation in external morphological features including body proportions and coloration explain why many varied forms were considered earlier to represent separate genera. Previously Khatri & Webb (2010) reported 3 known Stirellus species from Pakistan while Naveed et al. (2020) added 2 additional new species from Pakistan. Later, Shah et al. (2020) added 2 more species to the checklist. The present study will add 5 more to make a total of 12 species known from Pakistan.
