Acinipe hesperica hesperica Rambur, 1838 View in CoL
Material examined. SPAIN: 1♂ [without locality label] (Lectotype) , 3♀ (Paralectotypes) (NHMUK); Malaga, 1♂ (leg. Paudela); Malaga, Tonnemolinos, 19.5.1985, 1♀ (leg. C. Orozeo) (AİBÜEM); Andalusien, La Saucedo, 7.9.92 , 1♀ (NMW).
Remarks. Rambur (1838: 69, Plate 6, Figs. 1–2 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ) in describing this species used both sexes. According to Llorente & Presa (1997: 82) the male lectotype is in the NHMUK, but one female is labelled as lectotype by W. J. Reynolds in 1981 is present among 1 male and 3 female syntypes. The selection of Llorente & Presa (1997: 82) is a valid lectotype designation (ICZN, Article 74.5). Therefore the single male among the syntypes, without hind legs, in the NHMUK is the lectotype. The type locality of this species is the hills of near Malaga ( Rambur 1838), the label data is as in the Material examined above.
