Pherolepis fasciatus ( Kerzhner, 1970) View in CoL
Hypseloecus fasciatus Kerzhner, 1970: 638, 1988: 115 View in CoL . Pherolepis fasciatus Schuh, 1989: 4, 1995: 458 View in CoL .
Diagnosis: Recognized by the deep brown or castaneous hemelytron, the almost black pronotum, mesoscutum exposed and scutellum, the yellow coloration of basal half of antennal segment II with remainder deep brown, the silvery, flattened scalelike setae arranged into a broad and incompact band on mesial 1/3 of the hemelytron, the reddish brown legs, and the structure of male genitalia, especially by the L-shaped vesica which has a elongate, curved projection with a subbasal, thumblike process.
Discussion: Described from one male and four female specimens from Far East of the USSR (Primorsk Territory) with illustrations of the male genitalia, Kerzhner (1970) compared this species with P. a e n e s c e n s e (Reuter). I have not examined specimens of this species.
Host: Salix sp., Ulmus japonica .
Distribution: Far East of the USSR (Primorsk Territory), Japan.
