Distribution. Turkey, and Iran (Mazandaran [Tarsi Kola] and Lorestan Provinces) ( Zerny 1939; Amsel 1949; Slamka 2013).

Remarks. As stated by Slamka (2013), the smaller size and brown apical part of the labial palpus of M. virginalis can separate it from it’s closely allied species, i.e. M. sefidalis and M. inustalis .
