Distribution. Native in subtropics and tropics, mainly in SE Asia. It is also reported from America, rarely in tropical America, Europe (Canary Islands and Madeira,? Denmark,?S England) ( Slamka 2013), and Iran ( Namvar & Alipanah 2002).

Remarks. This species is known as a cucurbit pest in Iran that feeds mainly on the leaves, stems, flowers and fruits of cucumber and melon in Kerman Province ( Namvar & Alipanah 2002).
