Distribution. Native in East Asia. It has been introduced to several European countries since 2006 ( Slamka 2013). It has been reported from Iran (Gilan, Mazandaran and Golestan Provinces) by Ahangaran (2016) and Farahani et al. (2016).
Remarks. All the examined specimens are white with violet tint and black marginal band, resembling the nominotypical form. This species is considered as a newly introduced important pest of Box trees, Buxus hyrcana Pojark 1954 , in Iran ( Ahangaran 2016), and has three generations including two complete generations and a partial third, annually in Hyrcanian Forests. The overwintering happens at third generation larvae ( Farahani et al. 2021).
