Distribution. Holarctic; first record for Ukraine.
Taxonomical remark. This common and widespread species was re-described by Horstmann (2006: 1483–1485). It is related to M. globulator , but differs by the different color pattern of mesoscutum (reddish, with three black longitudinal stripes) and longer pectination of hind claw (see fig. 47 in Horstmann 2006).
