Taxonomical remark. Within the politus -group, this species is characterized by the scattered and fine punctures on mesopleuron; large ocelli (distance between lateral ocellus and eye 0.9–1.2 × ocellar diameter) and slender distal fore tarsomere (c. 2.5 × longer than wide). It has been misinterpreted as Mesochorus tuberculiger Thomson, 1886 by Schwenke (1999) (see Horstmann 2003).
