173. Ixodes pacificus Cooley and Kohls, 1943 . A Nearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Mammalia (several orders), but they have also been found on Galliformes : Phasianidae , Passeriformes : Passerellidae and Troglodytidae , and Squamata : Anguidae and Phrynosomatidae (adults are rare on Aves and Squamata ). Larvae and nymphs are also commonly recovered from Passeriformes (several families), and Squamata (several families). Ixodes pacificus is a frequent parasite of humans.
