An Oriental and Palearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages have been found on Carnivora : Canidae ; adults and nymphs have been found on Carnivora : Felidae and Mustelidae ; adults and larvae have been collected from Lagomorpha : Leporidae . Adults alone have been taken from Artiodactyla : Bovidae , Cervidae and Suidae , and Carnivora : Ursidae ; immature stages alone have been recovered from Erinaceomorpha : Erinaceidae , Perissodactyla : Equidae , Rodentia : Cricetidae , Muridae and Sciuridae ; Soricomorpha : Soricidae and Talpidae , Squamata : Lacertidae and Scincidae , and Passeriformes (several families) ( Guglielmone & Robbins 2018, Chae et al. 2019, Lee et al. 2019, Saleh et al. 2019). Ixodes nipponensis is a frequent parasite of humans.
