140. Ixodes mexicanus Cooley and Kohls, 1942b . A Neotropical species ( Clifford et al. 1973, Camicas et al. 1998) that was previously listed as Nearctic by Guglielmone et al. (2003, 2014) and whose females have been found on Passeriformes : Passerellidae and Troglodytidae . There are no records of Ixodes mexicanus causing human parasitism.
