Note: a tick largely confused with Amblyomma romitii , as explained in Barros-Battesti et al. (2007a). Amblyomma extraoculatum is treated as a Neotropical species in Voltzit (2007) under the incorrect authorship of Tonelli Rondelli, while Serra-Freire et al. (2012) allegedly found this tick in Peru but presented figures of another species.
No known copyright restrictions apply. See Agosti, D., Egloff, W., 2009. Taxonomic information exchange and copyright: the Plazi approach. BMC Research Notes 2009, 2:53 for further explanation.
