231. Ixodes texanus Banks, 1909 .

A Nearctic species with one record from the Neotropical Region, all of whose

parasitic stages are usually found on Carnivora : Mustelidae and Procyonidae , but they have also been collected from Mammalia (several orders). Ixodes texanus is a rare parasite of humans.
