A Palearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Lagomorpha : Leporidae . Adults alone have been found rarely on Strigiformes : Strigidae , and larvae on Accipitriformes : Accipitridae . There are no records of Haemaphysalis hispanica causing human parasitism.
