Subspecies: :

Subspecies Ateles fusciceps subsp. fusciceps Gray 1865

Subspecies Ateles fusciceps subsp. rufiventris Sclater 1872

Distribution: SE Panama to Ecuador, Colombia to W Cordillera ( Paraguay).

Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Critically Endangered as A. geoffroyi fusciceps, Vulnerable as A. g. rufiventris.
