Scirtes micronesianus species group
This species group is comprised of only S. micronesianus sp. n. It has the following characteristics: parameres with small projections on lateral margins; penis symmetrical, pala oblong, with simple parameroids and trigonium.
This species group is related to the japonicus species group (distributed in Asia of temparate and subtropical zones) in the external and genital features, but differs from the latter by the following male genital characteristics: pala long and oblong (short and broad in the japonicus group); parameroids simple and rather short (very long with membranous projections in basal parts in the japonicus group); trigonium shorter than parameroids, with simple apex (longer than parameroids, serrate and expanded apically in the japonicus group).
