Type material. Syntypes 4 (sexes unknown), Bellenden Ker; Malanda, Qld. ( NHRS).
Other material examined. Australia, Queensland: 2 males, 4 females, Malanda, 7 km NE of Atherton tableland, rain forest, piège lumineaux, 3-8.iii.1997, T. Bourgoin ( MNHN).
Distribution. Queensland.
Note. Photographs of a syntype of T. scapularis deposited in NHRS were examined in order to establish the identity of this species. Our examination indicates that the species belongs in the genus Orinda Kirkaldy. The material examined shows that this species has trilobed hind wings (Figure 21) contrasting with Orinda lucindae (Kirkaldy) in which they are rudimentary. Comments on the condition of the hind wing is given in the discussion below.
