Sicciaemorpha yumun sp. n.
( Figs 3, 4 View FIGURES 1–8 , 16 View FIGURES 15–18 , 23 View FIGURES 22–27 )
Type material examined. Holotype ( Figs 3 View FIGURES 1–8 , 16 View FIGURES 15–18 ): male, “[ Malaysia] Borneo / Sabah, Gunung Emas , 1650, 25.XII.1991, nativ[e] collector leg.” / “Slide AV5367 ♂ A. Volynkin ” (MWM/ ZSM, ex coll. CKC).
Paratypes: MALAYSIA: 1 female, Sabah, North Borneo, Gunung Alab , 1700m, 5°49´N 116°20´E, 8– 12.III.1991, native collector leg., gen. prep. No.: AV5368 (prepared by Volynkin) ( CKC) GoogleMaps ; 2 males, Sarawak, Kapit Distr., Sebong , Baleh Riv., 9–21.III.1994, J. Horák leg. ( CKC) .
Diagnosis. The forewing length is 9.5 mm in males and 10.5 mm in female. The new species differs superficially from the congeners by its pale brownish forewing coloration with a slight brown suffusion in the subterminal area and the dark brown and diffuse spots of the forewing pattern. The male genital capsule of S. yumun sp. n. differs from those of other congeners by the short (1/2 of the length of the distal lobe) but wide (ca. 2/3 of the width of the distal lobe), distally rounded ventro-distal process of valva (in other species it is longer (in comparison to the membranous distal lobe of the valva) and apically pointed or spinulose), and the thin and claw-like curved costal process which is similar to that of S. ivyalba , but in the latter species the process is shorter and straight. The distal saccular process of S. yumun sp. n. is elongate and smoothly tapered distally (the similarly shaped process is known only in S. pleiadina sp. n.). Additionally, the uncus of S. yumun sp. n. is hook-like and is similar only to that of S. danepan sp. n., but markedly thicker. The aedeagus of S. yumun sp. n. differs from those of the congeners by the narrowed and somewhat more strongly curved distal section. The female genitalia of the new species are most similar to those of S. danepan sp. n., but can be distinguished by the well-developed ventro-lateral pockets of the 7 th sternite (they are reduced in S. danepan sp. n.), and the broader antrum (the width to length ratio is 2: 3 in S. yumun sp. n. and 1: 3 in S. danepan sp. n.).
Distribution. Known from northern Borneo Island, Malaysia.
Etymology. Yumun is a character of the traditional Bornean creation myth, a wife of the god Kinoringan.
