Enicospilus trilineatus (Brullé) View in CoL ; Gauld & Carter, 1983: 148.
It is a widely distributed species from United States through Caribbean and Central America, south to Paraguay and Argentina, and including Galapagos Islands ( Gauld & Carter, 1983; Gauld, 1988). Morphologically and chromatically it also is an extremely variable species, with a number of characteristic morphotypes occurring in different areas. Gauld (1988: 189193) described at least four morphs, and stated reasons to consider all of them as a single species. I have found two of that morphs in the island: pale and dark (first and second morphs in Gauld work). It most be pointed that all Cuban specimens I have seen have the central sclerite (or at least trace). That is the reason why I think there are not Cuban specimens without distinct trace of central sclerite (the Gauld's fourth morph) and I have intentionally excluded this possibility from the key to Cuban Enicospilus View in CoL .
