Melolontha guttigera is the only species in this group that has been reported from India; the other species are M. javanica Keith & Li, 2005 ( Indonesia) , M. maculata (Chang, 1983) China), M. setifera Li, 2010 ( Myanmar) , and M. weyersi ( Brenske, 1900) ( Indonesia) .
