Type Locality: Brazil, Rio Solimões, Tabatinga.
Vernacular Names: White-tailed titi.
Synonyms: Callicebus (Callicebus) leucometopa (Cabrera 1900) ; Callicebus (Callicebus) napoleon Lönnberg 1922 ; Callicebus (Callicebus) paenulatus Elliot 1909 ; Callicebus (Callicebus) rutteri Thomas 1923 ; Callicebus (Callicebus) subrufus Elliot 1907 .
Distribution: Upper Amazonian region in Peru, Ecuador and Colombia, and possibly into Brazil, between the Rios Ucayali and Huallaga and north of Rio Marañon across the Rio Napo to the Rio Putumayo and Rio Guamés.
Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Subgenus Callicebus . C. cupreus species group. Separated as a species from cupreus by van Roosmalen et al. (2002).
