Perophora namei Hartmeyer & Michaelsen, 1928 NEW RECORD
Several colonies hand collected via scuba diving, no depth given, from sand and rubble substrates, 17 November 2014 and 24 January 2015 in the Singapore Strait region, the latter at Pulau Senang, one of the southernmost islands. Identified by GL from an underwater photo. Blue zooids attached by stolons along a long stalk, each zooid oriented with the atrial siphon aimed anteriorly, the oral siphon opening laterally, as described and figured by Millar (1975) and evident in the photo in Lee et al. (2016). Four rows of stigmata. Some of the zooids in the 2015 collection contain developing immature embryos.
Distribution: Philippines, Coral Sea Australia, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam.
