Type specimen examined.

Holotype, by original designation (♂ NHMB). First label [white aged, typeset]: “ Provincia / Buenos Aires ”. Second label [white aged, unknown handwriting]: “ II [?] ”. Third label [white, typeset]: “ Museum Frey / Tutzing ”. Fourth label [red, Patricia Vaurie’s handwriting]: “ TYPE / Trox / spatulatus / Vaurie ” (Fig. 6 D View Figure 6 ). Type locality: “ Provincia Buenos Aires ” [ Argentina].
