Description of Thalassotalea piscium HME 9272
Cells are Gram-staining-negative, flagellated, non-pigmented, and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, convex and entire, and yellowish-white colored after 3 days of incubation on MA at 25°C. Positive for nitrate reduction in API 20NE, but negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis, gelatinase and β -galactosidase. Does not utilize Dglucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid. Strain HME9272 (= NIBRBA0000114987) was isolated from a water sample, Gyeongpo-ho in Korea.
