MycoBank no.: MB 833127

Diagnosis:—Differs from other Dentipellicula species by the presence of gloeoplerous hyphae, and gloeocystidia, and ellipsoid to broadly ellipsoid basidiospores measuring 2.8–3.1 × 1.9–2.1 µm.

Type:— FRANCE. French Guiana: Remire-Montjoly, Rorota Lake , on dead hardwood log, 23 Aug. 2018, JV 1808/35 (holotype in PRM! isotypes in BJFC 030713 About BJFC & JV1808/35) .

Etymology:— Guyanensis (Lat.): referring to the location where the holotype was collected.

Fruiting body:—Basidiocarps annual, resupinate, inseparable, hard corky upon drying, up to 10 cm long, 3 cm wide, 3.5 mm thick at centre, without odour or taste. Fresh spines soft, white to cream, becoming fragile, cream, buff to cinnamon-buff when dry, up to 2 mm long, 6–7 per mm across base. Margin cottony, white to cream, up to 1 mm wide. Subiculum thin, soft corky, cream, up to 1mm thick.

Hyphal structure:—Hyphal system monomitic; generative hyphae with clamp connections, IKI–, CB–; tissue unchanged in KOH.

Subiculum:—Generative hyphae hyaline, thick-walled, frequently branched, interwoven, 2.5–4.5 µm in diam; distinctly wide generative hyphae sometimes present, 7–9 µm in diam. Gloeoplerous hyphae absent.

Hymenophoral trama:—Generative hyphae hyaline, slightly thick- to thick-walled, moderately branched, more or less subparallel along the spines, 4–6 µm in diam. Gloeoplerous hyphae hyaline, thick-walled, 5–8 μm in diam.

Hymenium:—Gloeocystidia present, thick-walled, rooting deep from the trama, more than 50 µm in length, 4–5 µm in diam; cystidioles absent; basidia clavate, with four sterigmata and a basal clamp connection, 12–20 × 3–4 µm; basidioles similar to basidia in shape, but smaller than basidia. Basidiospores ellipsoid to broadly ellipsoid, slightly thick-walled, hyaline, minutely rough, strongly IKI+, CB+, (2.7–)2.8–3.1(–3.2) × (1.8–)1.9–2.1(–2.2) µm, L = 2.99 µm, W = 2.00 µm, Q = 1.49 (n = 60/1)

Type of rot:—White rot.
