Medetera relicta Negrobov, 1967
Distribution. Russia.
Status in CZ. Previously recorded only from southern Moravia: Pálava (Děvín, Kotel) and Sedlec (Slanisko u Nesytu NNR) ( Olejníček 1998). The relevant specimens are deposited in NMPC. They were examined (genitalia of males dissected) and found to be all misidentified and belonging to three different species: M. annulitarsus (Sedlec, 23.vii.1996, H. Hiršová lgt., 1 ♁ 3 ♀♀), M. truncorum Meigen, 1824 (Děvín, 12.vi.1994, R. Rozkošný lgt., 1 ♁), and M. pallipes (Zetterstedt, 1843) (Kotel, 25.vii.1995, J. Vaňhara lgt., 1 ♁). Consequently, M. relicta must be removed from the list of Czech fauna, which implies that it is currently only known from Russia.
