Moravia, Sedlec, Slanisko u Nesytu NNR, 23.vi.1996, H. Hiršová lgt., 1 ♁ 3 ♀♀ ( NMPC) .

Distribution. Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Spain ( Roháček et al. 2021).

Status in CZ. Reliably documented only recently by the records from Oldřišov and Bělá (near Chuchelná) in northern Moravia, as previous listing in checklists proved to be erroneous ( Roháček et al. 2021). The first records from Bohemia are presented herein. The specimens from Sedlec (see above) were erroneously identified and recorded as M. relicta by Olejníček (1998).

Ecology. Unlike many tree-trunk dwelling congeners, this species is found mainly on the soil surface in open habitats ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 ).

Remarks. This species was treated as Medetera annulitarsa by Negrobov & Naglis (2016). However, it was described as “ annulitarsus ” which is a noun in apposition and this original wording must be preserved (ICZN 1999, 31.2.1 and 34.2.1).
