Northern to southern Neotropical region.

Remarks

See Pecci-Maddalena & Lopes-Andrade (2018b) for details concerning M. tigrinus . The name “ Mycotretus multipunctatus Dej. ”, listed and placed in synonymy with M. tigrinus in Dejean (1836), is a nomen nudum.
