Remarks

Mycotretus opalescens differs from M. pelliciens especially in the two central and elongated, barely separated pronotal spots and the basal elytral band with a small yellowish area close to the humeral angle. Aside from these small differences in coloration, which is expected to occur in conspecific Mycotretus from different localities, there is no morphological difference between these species to consider them separated entities.
