So far, the endemic Canary species Aradus canariensis Kormilev, 1954 (Heteroptera: Aradidae)
has been reported for the islands of El Hierro and Tenerife ( HEISS, 1979; HEISS & BÁEZ, 1990; HEISS & RIBES, 1992; AUKEMA et al., 2006, 2013; ROCA-CUSACHS et al., 2020) and, very recently, for the island of La Palma ( VAN DER HEYDEN, 2023).
The island of La Gomera can be added to the list of the distribution of A. canariensis in the Canary archipelago: On 08-12-2004, a male ( Fig. 1 View Figs ) and a female specimen ( Fig. 2 View Figs ) were found near Alajeró in the southern part of the island. Both specimens are stored in the collection of the second author.
Material examined:
La Gomera, Ermita del Buen Paso vic., Supra Alajeró, 1100 m, 08-12-2004, 1 male, 1 female, R. Grimm leg., E. Heiss det.
Thus, A. canariensis was found on all islands of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, while the species has not been reported from the islands of the province of Las Palmas, yet.
