Type :— NEW ZEALAND. South Island , Kelly’s Hill, Westland, Jan 1893, D. Petrie s.n. (lectotype WELT SP46519 ! [top branch excluded] designated here).
Notes:— The type of C. incana var. petiolata is a mixed collection composed of two branches. The lack of glandular trichomes covering the phyllaries, and the flat not-grooved leaves of the top branch, indicate that it corresponds to C. durietzii . Therefore, according to ICN Art. 9.11 and 9.14 ( Turland et al. 2018), a lectotypification is made excluding the top branch from WELT SP46519 ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ).
