Type locality. Vietnam ( Phu Yen).
Type material. MNHN (AE676 ( A 730), AE 677), France.
Records from Vietnam. Da Nang ( Ba Na NP) ; Phu Yen ; Lam Dong ( Da Lat) ( Michaelsen 1934b; Huynh 2005a; Pham 2010).
Distribution. Only known from Vietnam.
Remarks. Another subspecies, Metaphire varellana gilva (Michaelsen, 1934) was noted to be recorded in Indochina, but the exact locality was not given ( Blakemore 2007a).
