Type locality. South Atlantic ( St. Helena Isl.).

Type material. Stockkholm Museum , Sweden.

Records from Vietnam. This species was reported from provinces of Lang Son and Cao Bang, both in the northern Vietnam for its use in aquatic agriculture ( Blakemore 2015).

Distribution. Cosmopolitan species, original distribution in West Africa, but introduced to other parts in the world ( Blakemore 2002, 2012a, 2015)

Remarks. Blakemore (2015) reported its occurrence in Vietnam based on an online report (http:// www.afspan.eu/publications/reports/wp3-regional-international-cooperation-report-2012.pdf, accessed 6 June 2016); no other records have been presented so far.
