Probolomyrmex longiscapus Xu & Zeng, 2000 ( Figs 9–12 View Figures 9–12 )
Probolomyrmex longiscapus Xu & Zeng, 2000: 216 , figs 10–12.
Diagnosis. In lateral view propodeal teeth and posterodorsal corner of petiole more prominent, close to an acute angle. In dorsal view posterior margin of petiole imcomplete, concave in middle, convex laterally and forming a pair of blunt teeth.
Description of workers (n =3, Figs 9–12 View Figures 9–12 ). TL 3.1–3.4, HL 0.71–0.74, HW 0.46–0.47, CI 64–65, SL 0.54–0.66, SI 117– 140, PW 0.37–0.39, MSL 1.04–1.06, PL 0.40–0.42, DPW 0.21–0.23, PH 0.27–0.30, LPI 68–71, DPI 53–55.
In full-face view, head longer than broad, anterior 1/4 narrow; posterior 3/4 nearly rectangular; posterior margin nearly straight; lateral margins evenly convex. Mandibles small and triangular, hidden in frontoclypeal projection. Antennae 12- segmented, relatively longer, scape obviously surpassing posterior margin of head, flagellum incrassate toward apex.
In lateral view, dorsal outline of mesosoma weakly convex at anterior 1/4 and almost straight at posterior 3/4. Propodeal teeth triangular and acute apically; declivity moderately concave; propodeal lobe large and rounded.
Petiole relatively long, abruptly curved anteriorly, weakly convex dorsally and forming an arch, posterodorsal corner acutely toothed, posterior margin weakly concave; ventral margin moderately convex, anteroventral corner acutely toothed. Posterior margin of petiole incomplete, concave in middle, convex laterally and forming a pair of blunt teeth.
Body surface finely abundantly foveolate, interface finely micro-reticulate and dim. Body dorsum with dense depressed short pubescence, without standing hairs; scapes and tibiae with dense depressed short pubescence and without standing hairs. Body reddish brown, antennae and legs yellowish brown.
Material examined. 1 worker, CHINA: Guangxi , Tianlin, Mt. Cenwanglaoshan , 21.VIII.2013, leg. Liwei Liang, No. G 130918; 2 workers, CHINA: Guangxi , Nanning, Xixiang Pond, Xiangsi Lake , 22.86°N, 108.24°E, elev. 84 m, 5.IV.2020, leg. Biao Huang, No. G 200008. Distribution. China (Yunnan, Guangxi), Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia GoogleMaps .
Remarks. P. longiscapus is very similar to P. longinodus , but well distinguished from the latter by the more prominent propodeal teeth and posterodorsal corner of petiole in lateral view, the concave posterior margin of petiole in dorsal view.
