Widespread but scattered tropical American species, so far known from Mexico, Colombia, Guiana, Surinam, Ecuador, Brazil, northern Argentina, and the West Indies ( Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe ( Fulford & Sharp 1990; Reiner-Drehwald 2000, as L. geophila ; Schäfer-Verwimp & Pócs 2009; Lavocat-Bernard & Schäfer-Verwimp 2011); new to Central America.
