Chiriqui: Loc. 17, epiphyllous and epiphytic on shrub and on Alnus acutifolia , 2480–2750 m , 30894, 30899 (c. per.), 30900 (c. per.), 30909, 30919; 20, epiphyllous, 1880 m, 30983.
A widespread but scattered neotropical species, known from Costa Rica to Bolivia and SE Brazil including the Greater Antilles ( Schäfer-Verwimp & Pócs 2009); it seems to be locally common at Volcan Baru. The specimen 30983 has been included in molecular studies ( Dong et al. 2012).
