Type data. Lepidium hirtum (L.) Sm. subsp. stylatum (Lag. & Rodr.) Thell. (= L. stylatum Lag. et Rodr. as reported by Roivainen), peppergrass, pepperwort; Laguna de las Yeguas, Picacho de Veleta (about 2880 m), Prov. de Granada, Spain.
General distribution. Palaearctic (only Spain).
Relation to the host. The mite is associated with leaf margin rolling, leaf lamina curling and abnormal hairiness of leaves.
Remarks. This species was assigned to Aculus ? by Amrine and Stasny (1994). However, details of the anterior lobe and the dorsal semiannuli suggest the assignment to Aculops in agreement with Amrine (in litteris).
