Specimens examined. Las Galeras (Peninsula de Samaná), 3-X-2008, two females and one male on Solanum sp. ( Solanaceae ); four females on an unidentified plant; one female on Phyllostylon brasiliense Capanema (Ulmaceae) .

Remarks. This species has previously been recorded from Brazil, Ecuador, Guyana and Perú. The measurements of the specimens collected are very close to those reported in the original description and in the re-descriptions by Denmark (1966) and Moraes et al. (1991) for specimens from British Guyana and Ecuador, respectively. Measurements of four females examined are: Dorsal shield, 239 µm long (230–248), 109 µm wide (105–112). Setae j1: 15 (15–16), j3: 26 (25–27), j4, j5, j6, J2: 7 (6–8), J5: 7 (6–7), z2: 8 (8–9), z3: 37 (34–38), z4: 10 (10–11), z5: 8, Z4: 43 (42–44), Z5: 51 (50–52), s4: 42 (41–44), s6: 56 (53–58), r3: 32 (30–36), R1: 13 (11–16), JV5: 34 (30– 36), St IV: 19 (18–20).
