Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) evectus (Schuster) View in CoL

Mumaseius evectus Schuster, 1966: 321 .

Amblydromella (Aphanoseia) evecta .— Denmark & Welbourn, 2002: 308. Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) evectus View in CoL .— Guanilo & Martinez, 2007: 119; Guanilo et al., 2008a: 56.

Specimens examined. El Aceitillar, Parque Nacional Sierra de Bahoruco (Sierra de Bahoruco), 28-IX-2008, two females and one male on an unidentified Apocynaceae View in CoL .

Remarks. This species has previously been recorded from Galapagos Islands and Perú. Measurements of the two females collected in the Dominican Republic are similar to those given in the original description except for the longer z2 and S4 (18 µm and 31 µm, respectively in the holotype) and the shorter S5 which is 29 µm long in the original description. The measurements of those setae are similar to what was reported by Guanilo et al. (2008a) for specimens from Perú. Although Schuster consider that this species lacks macrosetae on leg IV a short, pointed and curved macrosetae has been observed in the specimens studied. Measurements of the two females are: dorsal shield, 302 µm long (285–320), 148 µm wide (145–150). Setae j1: 23 (22–23), j3: 30; j4, j5: 23 (22–24), j6: 29 (28–30), J2: 33 (32–34), J5: 8, z2: 25 (23–26), z3: 28 (23–28), z4: 29 (27–31), z5: 24 (23–24), Z4: 43 (42–43), Z5: 49 (46–52), s4: 31 (30–32), s6: 36 (35–36), S2: 36 (35–37), S4: 36 (35–37), S5: 22 (21–22), r3: 29 (28–30), R1: 28, St IV: 23 (22–24).

The male of T. (Anthoseius) evectus was briefly described by Schuster without indication of setal and shield measurements. Morphometric values for the single male collected are: dorsal shield, 228 µm long and 132 µm wide; ventrianal shield: 82 µm long and 120 µm wide. Setae j1: 19, j3: 24, j4 and j5: 15, j6: 21, J2: 20, J5: 9, z2: 20, z3: 19, z4: 22, z5: 18, Z4: 29, Z5: 33, s4: 21, s6: 25, S2: 25, S4: 19, S5: 18, r3: 23, R1: 22, St IV: 20.
