Comment. Broun based this species on one specimen that we located in the BMNH.
Type examined. Holotype ( BMNH): re-mounted on card, aedeagus mounted at corner, “4150. ♂. [in Broun’s hand] // New Zealand. [red underline] Broun Coll. Brit. Mus. 1922-482. // Glenhope. 8.6.1915. [in Broun’s hand] // Caccomolpus subcupreus . ♂. [in Broun’s hand] // Caccomolpus subcupreus Broun [handwritten] det. M. Daccordi [printed] 1982 [in Daccordi’s hand]”.
