Only one unidentified species was collected. Diagnoses of larvae of most Diplectrona species have not been published.
Algerian literature records. Medea, Mouzaia Wadi, Mazafran Watershed (Arab 2004). Tizi Ouzou, Aissi Wadi ( Lounaci et al. 2000; Malicky & Lounaci 1987).
Material studied. ALGERIA, Blida, Hammam Melouane, Badour Wadi (S8) (36°28’43”N, 3°04’07”E), 410 m a.s.l.: 22.ii.2013, 3 larvae ( CSK09 ) GoogleMaps . Maktaa Lazreg, El Aach Wadi (S4) (36°28’17”N, 3°00’30”E), 200 m a.s.l.: 07.vi.2013, 2 larvae ( CSK10 ) GoogleMaps .
Comment. Thirteen Diplectrona species occur in the European part of the West Palearctic Region but none of these are known in the Maghreb ( Morse 2021, personal communication). We collected larvae of this genus in only two moderately flowing sites ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ) between 200 and 410 m a.s.l. We need adults to identify the Algerian species.
