Systematics of Mniophila

To assign names to the lineages recognized here as species based on the DNA data, we compared the voucher specimens to species’ descriptions and type material of Mniophila . One species has been identified as undescribed ( M. haveli sp. nov.) and one species’ name is restored from synonymy ( M. wroblewskii Wańkowicz, 1880 ). Below, we summarize the systematics of all Mniophila species and comment on the taxonomic changes needed. The species are listed by their distribution range: first the European species, then the Ponto-Caucasian ones.
