Chaeridiona thailandica Kimoto 1998: 3 View in CoL [Holotype: Thailand, 50 km West of Tak, 900 m, 7–8.iv.1966, J. & M. Sedlacek/ Chaeridiona thailandica Kimoto View in CoL , n. sp. Det S. Kimoto, 19 (BPBM)]. Kimoto 1999: 110 (distribution).
Vertex of head, pronotal and elytral discs metallic green; head and pronotum coppery laterally; elytra yellowish laterally and apically; antennae (except apical four antennomeres) and legs yellowish; venter reddishbrown. Head: wedge-shaped; acutely produced between antennal bases; carinate medially from apex to between anterior portion of eye; vertex deeply, densely punctate; with two carinae around each eye. Antenna: antennomere I robust, 2x length of II; II transverse; III longer than II; IV–VII each shorter than preceding; VIII–XI each thicker and longer than preceding, forming an elongate club. Pronotum: strongly convex; subcylindrical; quadrate; lateral margin sinuate; anterior angle notched, with 2 teeth; posterior angle rounded; surface deeply, coarsely, densely punctate; pronotal width 0.9 mm; pronotal length 0.9 mm. Scutellum: elongate; depressed; micropunctate. Elytron: lateral margin slightly expanding apically, smooth; apical margin finely serrate; exterior apical angle rounded; extra puncture row present between rows 5 and 6; interspaces 2, 4, 6, and 8 costate, all entire; humerus slightly angulate, not produced; elytral width 1.6 mm; elytral length 3.1 mm. Venter: pro- and mesosterna punctate medially, smooth laterally; metasternum smooth medially, punctate laterally. Total length: 3.8–4.4 mm.
Comparative notes. This species can be distinguished from all other Chaeridiona by the metallic green pronotum and elytra, by having elytral costa 2 entire, and by the rounded exterior apical angle of the elytra without a tooth.
