Gelis canariensis HORSTMANN, 1986 View in CoL – Holotypus (♀) untersucht (München).
Der Holotypus, das einzig bekannte Exemplar von G. canariensis HORSTMANN View in CoL , unterscheidet sich durch etwas längere Bohrerklappen von den übrigen Arten der G. areator - Gruppe. Ansonsten ist diese Art sehr ähnlich G. igniculus nov.sp., G. ilicicola (SEYRIG) View in CoL und G. areator (PANZER) .
