Eristalis horticola (De Geer) [(as E. lineata in Hippa et al. 2001)]

Material examined. Leg. A. Ricarte: 3♂, meadow along Moreda valley, 720 m, on flowers of Chaerophyllum hirsutum , 24.v.2012 (1♂), 28.v.2012 (1♂), 29.v.2012 (1♂) [ NMS]. Leg. R.M. Lyszkowski: 1♂, nr. Pedra Boa, 750 m, 24.v.2012 [RL]. Leg. S.M. Hewitt: 1♂, Moreda Valley meadows, 21.v.2012 [ CALMG].

Taxonomic notes. Two of the four males obtained were smaller and shared external characters and genitalia with Eristalis stackelbergi Doležil and Rozkošn, 1967 , which is currently considered as a synonym of E. horticola (as E. lineata in Hippa et al. 2001).
