Comparative material examined: Sarax mediterraneus : Holotype: Female ( SMF 35614), GREECE, RHODOS, Lindos in Mauerspalten und Felsritzen der Stütz- und Unterbauten der Johanniterburg (English translation: Lindos in crevices in the foundations of the so-called Johanniterburg castle), 27 April 1964, leg. Helversen V. & Pieper. Paratypes: female adult, female subadult, same data as holotype ( SMF 35614).

Sarax buxtoni : Holotype of Sarax batuensis Roewer 1962 (SMF 9913906 – RII/13906/51 – 68), 3 females, 6 juveniles, MALAYSIA, SELANGOR, Batu caves (in different parts of the cave), 1959/60, leg. H.E. McClure. 4 adult females, 1 juvenile female (NHMW 21891), REBUPLIC OF SINGAPORE: Singapore, North West District, near Turf Club, GPS coordinates 1°19’29.47’’N, 103°47’25.97’’E, 14 September 2010, leg. and det. M. Seiter; 1 adult female, 3 juvenile females (NHMW 21892), same data.

Charinus ioanniticus (Kritscher, 1959) : Syntypes: Females (NHMW 1427, 19137–19140, 21167), GREECE, RHODOS, Lindos, found in cervices in the foundations of the so-called Johanniterburg castle, 15–16 April 1959, leg. and det. E. Kritscher; Female (NHMW 27598) GREECE, RHODOS, Rhodes, found in subterranean passages of the ancient city, GPS coordinates 36°26'35.73"N; 28°13'20.79"E, 29 July 2010, leg. and det. M. Seiter.

Sarax sarawakensis (Thorell, 1888) (SMNS) 1991), 11 specimens both sexes, MALAYSIA, SELANGOR, Batu Caves, September 1984, leg. P. Weygoldt.
