Vernacular Names: Derby's Woolly Opossum.

Distribution: Mexico, Central America, W Colombia, and W Ecuador.

Discussion: Subgenus Mallodelphys . Reviewed by Bucher and Hoffmann (1980, Mammalian Species, 140). The name pulcher Matschie is based on a zoo specimen of unknown origin.
