Micracanthia ornatula (Reuter, 1881)

Salda ornatula Reuter, 1881: 160 (as new species); Salda dixoni Distant, 1904: 405 ; Salda (Chartoscirta) dixoni var. luteifuscula Breddin, 1912: 86 ; Acanthia balnearum Bergroth, 1918: 123 ; Saldula minor Hamid & Sultana, 1972: 283 .

Distribution in Iran. Hormozgan (Linnavuori 2004), Iran (no locality cited) (Linnavuori et al. 2011). General distribution. Widespread: Egypt, Tropical Africa, Central Asia extending to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Far East; Australian Region (Lindskog 1995).

Comment. An unknown species, Micracanthia sp., was recorded by Ostovan et al. (2002) from Jajrood River (Tehran province); it is probably M. ornatula .
